In today’s episode of Butterfly Kisses, we have Mary Welp with us to discuss her latest path in meditation and self-hypnosis, RISE. Mary has been in private practice for over 20 years and has recently shifted her focus to helping people use self-hypnosis as a meditation practice. Join me in this episode as I chat with Mary Welp, a certified hypnotherapist, about the benefits of self-hypnosis and meditation.
RISE is an acronym for the four steps of the process that Mary teaches. R is for Relax, I is for Imagine, S is for Suggest, and E is for Empower. This practice can be done by anyone, regardless of prior experience with meditation or hypnosis. The intention of doing this work is what is most important. By having the intention of shifting energy, whether anger, stress, or any other negative emotion, the energy will flow to where the attention is placed. So if you are interested in learning how to use self-hypnosis as a meditation practice, check out Mary’s work.
In her work, Mary helps people use self-hypnosis as a meditation practice to shift energy and move stuck emotions. If you’re looking for a way to calm your mind and find inner peace, self-hypnosis may be the answer you’re looking for.
When the pandemic hit, Mary’s office shut down, realizing that this was an opportunity for her to start something new. She started practicing RISE, a hypnotic meditation, with some friends, and it went well. She then started teaching Rise as a three-hour workshop to help people use self-hypnosis as a meditation practice.
RISE is a four-step process that leads you into a relaxed state to shift your awareness and allow you to release energies that no longer serve you. In the “Suggest” step, you visualize the energy you want to shift. For example, if you are dealing with anger, you can envision it as a big red ball of flame and imagine it turning into water and steam.
The benefits of this practice include having a more positive outlook and feeling more empowered. It can also help reduce stress and anxiety.
Relax, Imagine, Suggest, Empower.
To begin, you need to relax the body and mind. This can be done by focusing on the breath. Take three deep, cleansing breaths- this calms down the central nervous system.
Once the body is relaxed, then imagine a place that’s safe and happy. It can be anything that brings you peace and happiness. Once your imagination is focused on this safe place, you can then work with the subconscious mind to shift the energy, such as anger, you want to release. Visualize this anger as a big ball of fire. Allow it to grow as it consumes all the anger you are feeling. Now, see the ball of flame shrinking until it’s just a little ember. See the ember growing fainter and fainter until it’s extinguished entirely.
Feel the calmness and peace that comes over you as this energy dissipates. Take a few deep breaths and feel the energy shift within you. You may even want to say out loud, “I release this anger now,” or “I let go of this anger.” Repeat this visualization and affirmation a few times until you feel the anger dissipating completely.
Next, focus on suggesting a new way of reacting or behaving. This can be done by visualizing the energy you want to shift as something different, such as a different color or shape. You can also use metaphors or stories to help you shift the energy. It is important not just to remove the energy but also to replace it with something more positive.
For example, if you are trying to shift the energy of anxiety, you might visualize the anxiety as a dark cloud looming over you. Then, you can imagine the cloud dissipating and being replaced by a bright, warm sun. Alternatively, you could tell yourself a story in which you are anxious about an upcoming event, but you end up handling it with grace and poise. By the end of the story, you feel calm and confident.
Remember, you are not your thoughts or emotions. They are simply energy passing through you. By observing them without judgment, you can release them more easily. So, if you are caught up in a negative thought or feeling, take a step back and simply observe it. See it for what it is and let it go.
Self-hypnosis is a powerful tool that can be used to shift energy and create change. By focusing on the breath and relaxation, the mind can be open to new possibilities. Make sure to set an intention of shifting the negative energy, as this is what will create the change. With practice, self-hypnosis can reduce stress, anxiety, and negative emotions.
A mind is a powerful tool that can be used to create lasting change. By following these simple steps, it is possible to shift the energy and create a new reality.
Relax, imagine, suggest, and empower – it is that simple!
I’d love to hear how you apply RISE – a 4 step self-hypnosis and meditation practice to get peace, calm, and balanced. Leave me a comment on how it went for you, or drop me any questions you would like answered.
