Do you feel like you’re struggling with your mental health but are unsure what to do about it?
Have you been told to “get over it” or “snap out of it”?
If so, this episode is for you. You’ll learn from Joe Fletcher about how he overcame and continues to successfully manage his life-long struggle with mental illness
Joe Fletcher was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at the age of nine. This resulted in mental health issues, including OCD and Asperger’s. Joe was prescribed medication for these conditions, which he took for 25 years. However, after reading a book called Anatomy of Epidemic, Joe realized that the medication was not helping his mental health. He stopped taking the medication and began to explore other options. During the lockdown, Joe read a book about thought and how it creates reality. This profoundly impacted him, and he began to see his mental illness in a new light. He started to see it as a positive experience.
These beliefs can help shift you from depression and negativity into enlightenment, understanding, and love:
- We are all spiritual beings living in a human experience
- We create our reality through thought
- We are all connected
We are all spiritual beings living in a human experience
You are a spiritual being living in a human experience. This means we are all connected to a higher power or energy source and are here on Earth to learn and grow. You have incarnated for a reason and can use your human experience to your advantage by learning from your mistakes and growing as a spiritual being. Your human experience is temporary, but it is also valuable. You can use it to learn and grow and become a better person.
Also, you can help others learn and grow by sharing your experiences with them. We are all connected to a higher power or energy source and can use that connection to help us grow and learn. When you connect with your higher power, you access a source of wisdom and knowledge to help you in your journey through life. This connection can also help you from past hurts and traumas. Connecting with your higher power can create a force of good in the world.
We create our reality through thought
Joe believes that we create our reality through thought. He feels we tend to look outside ourselves for the problem when it starts on the inside. Joe believes that we have the power to change our reality; we just need to realize that we are in control of our thoughts. He says that when we love each other and give each other space, we are naturally connected. However, we get caught up in our concepts and ideas, which causes disharmony. Joe believes that we are here to learn and grow and that everything we go through is an experience we can learn from. He thinks it is essential to show people that there is another way to deal with mental illness that does not involve medication or being diagnosed. Joe believes we need to get our minds quiet and listen to our deeper selves to change our thoughts. He says that once we learn the lesson of what our mind is doing, we can see past it, and a new life will begin.
When we love each other and give each other space, we naturally connect. However, we get caught up in our concepts and ideas, which causes disharmony. Joe believes everything we go through is an experience we can learn from. To change our reality, Joe believes we must first be aware of our thoughts. Once we realize that we are in control of our thoughts, we can begin to change our reality. If you feel caught up in anxious thoughts, notice them and let them go. Pay attention to the feeling in your brain and body, and when you notice it, let it go. This will help to slow down your thoughts and bring you back to the present moment.
We are all connected
We are all connected because we are first spirits and then human beings. We all have basic needs and emotions. When you are feeling anxious, remember that you are not alone. Other people have felt this way too. You are connected to others through your shared humanity. To manage anxiety, start by taking some deep breaths. Breathe in slowly and deeply, and then exhale slowly. This will help to calm your mind and body. Repeat this a few times until you feel more relaxed.
Joe Fletcher’s story is an inspiring one that reminds us that we have the power to change our reality. Joe overcame his mental illness by changing his thoughts and connecting with his true self. If you are struggling with mental health issues, know that you are not alone and there is hope.
