Meet Lauren Fonvielle, an integrative energy practitioner specializing in EFT tapping. Lauren shares her journey of self-healing, her experience of using EFT to manage her anxiety and stress, the science behind EFT, and how it can help individuals with PTSD, social anxiety, and even physical pain.

EFT is an Emotional Freedom Technique that helps to send a message to the amygdala in the brain to reduce the amount of cortisol in the body and create space between an emotional trigger and the physical sensation. Lauren goes into detail, providing tips for using EFT to manage stress and anxiety.

Why is it important to use EFT to manage stress and anxiety?

EFT is a powerful and effective tool for managing difficult emotions and situations. It is a form of energy psychology that helps individuals to identify and access the core issues underlying their emotional distress. By tapping on specific points in the body while focusing on the issue, EFT helps to release stress and anxiety and create a sense of emotional freedom. It also helps to rewire the nervous system and the brain so that you can respond differently to challenging situations and develop more positive coping strategies.

The Emotional Freedom technique is also beneficial for those seeking spiritual transformation. You can access deeper spiritual truths and energies to help you make positive changes through tapping. With regular practice, EFT can help you access a deeper sense of peace and clarity and help you to develop a greater understanding of your spiritual journey. Using EFT to manage stress and anxiety, you can create the space and awareness needed to open up to your spiritual path and move towards spiritual growth and transformation.

Here are a few steps to help you on your journey-

  1. Acknowledging the emotions that you feel
  2. Speakout loud and express the feelings associated with the experience

1. Acknowledging the emotions that are being felt

Acknowledging the emotions being felt is the first step in the process of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). This involves taking the time to identify and recognize the emotions that you are experiencing at the moment. This can be done by simply stopping and taking a few deep breaths, and asking yourself, “What am I feeling right now?” You may not have the words to name what you feel, but simply being aware that something is present can be a great starting point. You can also use the EFT tapping technique to help you access and identify the emotions experienced. This involves tapping on certain points of the body while simultaneously saying out loud the emotions that you are feeling. Through this practice, you can access deeper emotions you may not have been aware of. Once you have identified and acknowledged your emotions, you can begin releasing them.

The EFT process also involves releasing the emotions that are being felt. This can be done through the tapping technique, where you tap on the specific points of the body while focusing on the emotions you are experiencing. As you tap, repeat affirmations that help release emotions.

For example,  “I release this emotion of (name the emotion).” You can also repeat positive affirmations such as, “I am safe,” “I am loved,” and “I am in control.” This allows you to release the negative emotions that are being felt and replace them with positive affirmations.

In addition to the tapping technique, you can also use visualization to help you release these emotions. This involves using your imagination to create a mental image of the emotion. Then, in your mind’s eye, imagine the emotion being released from your body and replace it with more positive emotion. Visualization is a powerful way to create a sense of calm and peace, letting you let go of negative emotions and creating space for more positive thoughts and feelings.

 

2. Speaking out loud and expressing the feelings associated with the experience

Speaking out loud and expressing the experience’s feelings helps create a space between the emotional trigger and the physical sensation in the body. To do this, first, identify your emotions and put them into words. This is a helpful way to become aware of the emotions that they are feeling and to acknowledge them. After identifying the emotions, begin to speak out loud and express your feelings. This can be done by either describing their emotions or repeating affirmations that resonate with them. This helps to shift the perspective and can help to release any associated stress. Finally, focusing on feeling relief after speaking out loud and expressing the feelings is important, as this can help reduce the amount of cortisol pumping through the body.

Once you have finished speaking out loud and expressing your feelings, you can begin the tapping process. Gently tap the specific points in the diagram below with your fingertips. This helps to stimulate the body’s energy system, allowing for the release of any trapped emotions. Set a  specific intention, allowing for deep healing and transformation. Focus on your breath as you tap, releasing the emotions.

The last step in the EFT tapping process is to take a moment and observe how your body is feeling. This helps to validate the progress that has been made and can help to provide a sense of relief. Also, take the time to notice any subtle shifts in your physical and mental state. This helps provide insight into the issues addressed during the tapping process and can be a valuable tool for self-reflection.
